The Boat Trader

Boat traders are professionals in their field, and they will be able to give you all the advice you need to make the right choices for your intended use. They will be able to help you decide on what standard options are available or what ‘add-ons’ you can make.

Finding the right Boat Trader

The internet is a good place to start. Search out blogs or reviews about your local boat trader, but don’t keep your options too close to home just because they’re there, choose wisely and check all the star ratings other buyers have given them.

Performance Information

A reputable boat trader will have all the performance data ready to hand and help you decide exactly what’s right for you. Have a list of ‘must haves’ ready to discuss with your boat trader, for example if you want to cruise along see the sites and fish, or you want to speed and at what speed.

Boat trader shows

Throughout the year there are sure to be local shows where any reputable boat trader worth their salt will have a stand. These events are a great opportunity to build a rapport with individual boat traders and pick up stacks of information about them and their products.

As well as what’s available ‘off the shelf’ there are numerous customized options that a boat trader will be able to advise you on. In some cases you can even log on to a boat trader’s web site and calculate the customized options before you visit the dealer.

There are all kinds of boat trader’s certified marks to look out for. These can range from performance ratings, safety factors and even environmental considerations too. If you’re buying a brand new model its worth checking out that the boat trader is fully certified by the manufacturer to deal in its brand.

Think about warranty deals. New models will come with an automatic guarantee for a minimum of two years, but it worth asking the boat trader if there are any special extended warranty programs available. These warranty deals should also be guaranteed by the manufacturer and read them carefully to be sure you are covered for all eventualities.

When negotiating with the boat trader, it’s a good opportunity to ask them to throw in extras to seal the deal, like safety equipment or if you’re already fully equipped a few accessories.
